Abstract

Development in Indonesia in the physical sense, such as housing and other facilities, is increasing along with the increasing population. In an effort to reduce building costs, one way is to use organic waste materials such as dried coconut fiber. The basic idea is to use organic coconut fiber to utilize materials that are not used and have economic value. In this study, dry coconut fiber was added with a moisture content of 0%, a mixture percentage of 1,00%, 1,25% and 2,00% of the weight of normal concrete with a fiber length of 5-10 cm. The method of making a mixture of dried coconut fiber is by separating the fiber from the outer shell of the coconut so that 40% hairy fiber and 60% mattress fiber are obtained which are then dried. The review of the analysis of this study is the compressive strength of concrete with a cylindrical specimen with a diameter of 15 cm and a height of 30 cm. The concrete planning method uses the SNI-03-2843-2000. This study analyzes the compressive strength of concrete with age phases: 7,14,21, and 28 days with the expectation of getting a concrete compressive strength (f'c) of 24 MPa at the age of 28 days of concrete.
